What Is Elemental Yoga

Elemental Yoga is a natural therapy of the practice of harmonising the energies which collaborate and collide to  provide the landscapes of our Human Nature. This program will teach you how to balance and dissolve the 5 Great Elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. 

Along with Hatha Yoga, many ancient natural medicines also work with harmonizing the Elements. So beyond just the balancing of the Chakras, we can contact and work with the Elements within our whole being, from our personality habits to physical structures, within philosophical leanings and  spiritual preferences.
 

Simply, our oldest spiritual Sciences and Medicines, which provide the base  for  many of  the successful ideas of modern Holistic Health suggest to us that the Balance of Life is all about the  Elements.
 

Elemental Yoga is an artful philosophy which is not based in any single style of Asana practice, but more in the foundation of Tantric Yoga principles, so it maintains the ability to encompass all the modern styles of  Modern Postural Yoga that are currently being taught around the world, without becoming another Asana based style. 

Exploring Yoga philosophies as polarised as Hatha and Raja Yoga, the Elemental approach to yoga allows us to experience our own genuine relationships to all the popular modern dicsiplines such as Kundalini, Kriya, Bhakti, Yin, Vinyasa Astanga, and  Iyengar Yoga. This training has engrossed it's students with a truly embracing modern world yoga philosophy that brings the Spirit of our practices towards creating a common good: to create teachers who can positively influence the mental and physical health of their Communities through teaching Yoga as a form of natural therapy. 

 

 As Elemental Yoga is the practice of balancing the 5 Elements,  the result is gaining awareness and understanding of our deeper Nature, because the path of tantric Yoga is the process of revealing our Self to ourselves. Once we understand the simplicity that Yoga works through, we can quickly begin to restore balance to our inner life, and begin the great journey into developing energetic harmony with the world we live in.


This course is a unique and intelligent kinesthetic learning opportunity that uses multiple holistic platforms with complimentary philosophies, set together within the Cycle of Energy of Seasonal Changes, to align our health with the Earths deep natural rhythms.
  
Elemental Yoga accounts for our modern approach and the shortcuts and losses we take within the Traditional Path, and so is strengthened by the supportive ideas of proven Holistic  modalities of  Yoga Therapy, Zen Shiatsu, Holistic Kinesiology, Shamanism, MIndfulness, Macrobiotic and Ayurvedic Nutrition, Holistic Counseling and the not so modern Bhuddist Vipassana Meditation. 

It has long been known that as we shift  through the Environmental and Seasonal changes, so must the way we approach Balance:  Aligning our Subtle-Body to the Cycles is the simplest and strongest way ensure a developed and deeply rewarding Yoga path.


The teachings aim to enrich our energies through practices which create self-made "Internal Climates" that inspire creative confidence, relaxed perspectives, regenerative lifestyle choices and reconnect us to the inspirational teachings of Nature herself. 

 

The 5 Element philosophy can be lived and embodied through this  experience of the natural yoga of movement, meditation and nutrition, creating a platform for its students to learn how to truly harness the Medicine of the energetics of Hatha Yoga. Using the environment to nourish our imbalances and desires is a timeless practice, and this course is aimed at keeping that tradition enlightened. 


While all the traditional principles of breath awareness and structural alignment are vital to the practices, we can use (as one example) the Meridian system from Oriental medicine to access the flow of qualities carried within the 5 elemental forces.  
Kinesiology is instrumental by teaching us how to use contemplation and subtle anatomy systems together, to assist in changing attitudes, beliefs, or more positively enabling our multi-dimensional capacities. Ayurvedic and Macrobiotic nutrition share a common base in 5 element theory, and we take ideas from this mutual ground to present a form of Elemental nutrition.

The roots of Yoga are in Shamanism dating deep in Hindus Valley history, and so the aspects of Ritual connection to the higher energies is appropriate to Elemental yoga. There is much more we could say but lets  keep to the basics :)

Elemental Yoga allows to us to access all the qualities of Nature that are in operation within our life experience. It allows us to alter the way these forces are balanced, and actively guide ourselves in evolving through patterns and blockages that are simply "energetic" environments. It is a wonderful philosophy that provides maps and insights into the intuitive navigation of life in the modern climate.

In the spirit of Tantra, this form is about embracing and engaging with the characteristics of the Elements, to learn how we have come to represent them, to embody the expression of ourselves as united and absolute beings of the highest potential. It lets us stand back from the subjective enquiry of self-development and connect deeply with the archetypical forces that truly play out through our daily expressions of both our inner worlds and outer relationships. 

Elemental Yoga Therapy embraces the holistic philosophy that we are all created uniquely and therefore we each have our own imbalances, which require individual and personal attention. Yoga can become our own inner medicine, when we know how to listen to what the body is asking for. 

The wisdom of natural healing reminds us that balance and imbalance are ever changing, so this system teaches a form of deep listening, grounded in a consultation process that allows us to observe how the Elemental forces are moving within, and to directly prescribe, from all aspects of yoga, those practices which restore inappropriate patterns to a state of natural rhythm and flow. 

It is a gentle awakening through contemplating and listening and ultimately dancing with the forces of Nature. 

The transparency of the system is what makes it so potent. We can easily feel the difference between the 5 forces and once we know where are they working within us, we can become our own alchemist, by bringing the wise medicine of Nature´s elements into the spirit of daily living and Yoga ritual.

The Elemental Yoga Therapy Course Content:

The Yoga Therapy Teacher Training Course is a 30 or 50 day intensive created for yoga teachers and yoga practitioners. It demonstrates, through interactive lectures and practices, how we can use an understanding of the Nature of the Elements to make yoga practices beneficial for personal and community health issues, and is delivered with a language that plugs us back into to observing, respecting and worshiping the Nature both around and within us. 

The Elemental Yoga Therapy training course is designed to transform a yoga teacher into a yoga therapist, by learning how to choose the asana sequences, pranayamas, diet, meditations, mudras and mantras that help their students engage directly with whatever combination of the 5 forces is causing them obstacles. It is based in the understanding that yoga seeks to dissolve the 5 elements, and helps us to see where those elements are in action in the whole being - the physical, physiological, psychological, psychic, and spiritual being. 

As a student of Elemental Yoga Therapy you will be encouraged to explore your own Elemental balances, and to enter into a series of daily practices to fully feel the way the elements are moving through you. For this reason, experienced yogis who are not yoga teachers can also benefit from the yoga therapy training course. It is a self-development program as much as it is an integral educational opportunity. 

An emphasis is placed on holistic counseling, and through the different systems of diagnostics and the skills of elemental based communication, you will learn how to hear the dynamic state of being that is at the root of many common symptoms. It is from this process that you can confidently create practices to control and support the way the Elements are balanced.
